About Jeulo
Jeulo is the moniker of Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter and producer Julian E. Basurto. Growing up playing classical piano with a love for pop and hip-hop music, Jeulo has long worked in the shadows as a 3D designer, songwriter, and dancer, and is now ready to bring his bespoke artistry to the forefront. As the son of immigrant parents, an Ecuadorian father and French mother, he was surrounded by vibrant, bold culture and music which has informed his eclectic and sophisticated sensibilities as an artist.
Jeulo has envisioned a world where art is a safe haven and music is a conduit that reveals our simplest and deepest vulnerabilities. Tracing influences from hyperpop to contemporary R&B, Jeulo has recently released his French-English introspective club record "Petit Prince". He has released four singles in the past nine months in preparation for the release of his debut album early next year. Each single from the pop-punk inspired banger “Already Gone” to the epic dance-pop lead single “Over Again” showcases Jeulo’s sublime vocal ability and songwriting craft as well as his ability to blend modern genres and soundscapes.
His greatest musical influences are avant-garde pop auteurs like Rosalia, Frank Ocean, Charli XCX, SOPHIE, KAYTRANADA, and Radiohead. One of Jeulo’s many strengths is his ability to captivate a crowd with his performance and musicianship. A staple of the NYC open mic circuit, Jeulo has played at up-and-coming venues like FirstLive and Brooklyn Music Kitchen, as well as mainstays like the Delancey. He will continue to perform solo shows across the NYC area and abroad in preparation for the release of his debut record.
With his genre-bending approach to music creation, emotive songwriting and ambition as a world builder, Jeulo is a songwriter and artist to watch, slated to redefine modern pop music.
